Jesus removes from our vocabulary the notion that our calamities, sufferings, persecutions, and ruin are a result of God's judgement.  The judgement for our sins have already been covered by the blood of Jesus when He died on the Cross.  Instead, when we suffer, God stands close in the midst to lovingly console us.
