Marge's Memos - Children's Ministry Announcements- Marge BennettMarge's Memos for Sunday School Teachers - October 16th, 2008Submitted by admin on Mon, 2008-10-20 23:58.Thank you to each of you for your cooperation last week in my absence. I will be ordering the winter curriculum this week. If you have any changes or requests please let me know by Sunday. Teachers have been asking about mission projects for this year and at our Christian Education meeting this week we decided that Preschool through and including fifth grades will participate with the Operation Christmas Child. We would like each class to fill at least two (one for a boy and one for a girl) shoeboxes for their age group. There will be information to send home to the parents in your classroom on Sunday. Sixth grade through senior high will be collecting food for the Thanksgiving baskets that the deacons distribute. Please encourage your children to participate. There are also give-a-ways in the supply closet, so feel free to check these out and add to shoebox. One of our senior high boys approached me last Sunday asking to help in one of our SS classes for a few weeks for his graduation project. He spent some time last year helping, but needs some more hours. Would you be willing to have him join your class for a few weeks? If so, please let me know. (It has to be in grades 5 and below). Thanks. Also, mission committee contacted me asking if Sunday School would be interested in participating with the shoebox Christmas project this year. I said we would be happy too, so they will be giving us information shortly which I will pass along to you. The shoeboxes are due back to the church by November 9th. Now I need to know if you, as teachers and parents, think we can also help with the Thanksgiving baskets this year. Please let me know what you think. Marge's Memo for Sunday School Teachers - September 28th, 2008Submitted by admin on Thu, 2008-09-25 20:31.Thank you for all the cooperation last week-from moving the children from the sanctuary to their classrooms and having the offering and attendance done quickly.
Please remember to wear your lanyard at all times on Sunday morning. We are still working on mission projects-so don't think we forgot. Again, please call or e-mail me with any questions/comments. Marge's Memo is also posted on the church's web site at www.lvpcchurch.org under 'News and Announcements'. Week one-down!! I hope everyone enjoyed their class last week and that everything went fairly well. The dismissal time for the children will be printed in the bulletin each week. I'm sure it will take a few weeks for all the 'kinks' to work out. Any questions or comments are always welcomed. This week the children will be leaving during the second hymn. When the hymn starts we would like the teachers to move to the center aisle (bringing any children along the way) and direct them down the center aisle out to the narthex. In the narthex we can regroup and move to the classrooms. Sunday School Begins September 14thSubmitted by nbennett on Sat, 2008-09-13 20:49. PublicWelcome to another fun and exciting year of Sunday School. I hope everyone had a relaxing, safe and enjoyable summer. Thank you to each and everyone of you (both new and returnign teachers) for stepping forward to shoe God's love to the children on LVPC. Please see me first thing on Sunday to receive your lanyard/name tag. I'd like everyone to wear their name tag into worship at 9:00 AM. Everyone should have their teacher guide and blue folder with the general information. If you were not at either of our meetings your materials are in your classrooms. If you are missing any of this please see me. Wednesday night all basic supplies were placed in your classroom. If you need any additional items or just more of something please check the closet. There are a lot more supplies available. If you need anything else just let me know. |
